No Hitting...

Just as we're getting ready for church, Annistyn comes in bawling covering her face.

{PA} Haidyn just kicked me in the face!

Seconds later, Haidyn comes in...

{Me} Haidyn, did you kick Annie in the face?
{PH} No. I hit her with my foot in my boot.

Princess....

Today we took the girls to lunch at Golden Corral...during SENIOR DELIGHT hours. The girls entertained the seniors and seemed to have made most of their days.

One lady decided to talk to Haidyn.

{Senior} Aren't you a little storybook princess? All three of you.
Haidyn looks around and back at the lady with the biggest (cheesiest) grin.

{PH} Uh-huh!

Inator...

For Dannon's Birthday, we gave him a much needed new wallet.
And our little Annistyn kind of likes rejects (garbage) and such,
so of course, she took claim on his old wallet.

{PA} I give you...the WALLET-inator!

She also took claim on the watch box.
Which, coincidentally looks a lot like a ring box...you can only imagine the hey-day she is going have with that!

Little Einsteins...

When Camdyn and Annie were little, they really liked
DISNEY'S LITTLE EINSTEINS.

We have a couple books, a dvd, even cute plush dolls.
But Haidyn, doesn't know much about them.
Except that they have an

ANNIE

and she is positive that there is a

CAMDYN

Her name is actually June, but Haidyn doesn't believe it.
It's so cute!

Yellow...

{PA} Red means STOP.
Green means GO.
Yellow means GO FASTER.

Huh.
Apparently Daddy had nothing to do with this logic.

Wands...

In Camdyn's reading homework tonight,
there was a section of questions she needed to answer with a "yes" or "no".

{PC} Do you wash?
YES
Do you have a watch?
YES
Do you have a wand?
Of course I do!

(actual written answer, YES)
Do you talk to a wasp?
NO

What kind of princess doesn't have a wand at her disposal?

I mean, seriously?!

Bum...

I could write all day about Haidyn funnies, but mostly, they are just funny when she says them.
Her voice, pronunciation, and animation are so adorable.
It's hard to convey that in writing.

{PH} I ate Hudson's bum.

Which translates to this...

Hugs...

After my girls were fighting all morning, it melted my heart when I caught them hugging each other before they went their seperate ways into the school.

Fabulous...

{PC} Next Friday can I please have a play date with Carter?
{Me} That might be okay, let me think about it.
{PC} Well, I want to look fabulous, because I really like him.

Great...

Suckers...

Annistyn rode her bike home from school today, all by herself (I drove next to her).
She felt like such a big girl.
Every time we would cross the street, she would take off down the sidewalk to the next corner.
Yelling at us EVERY TIME...

{PA} So long suckers!

The Saddest Day...

Yesterday, out of nowhere...
{PC} Tomorrow is the saddest day.
{Me} What do you mean?
{PC} It's a sad day because an airplane went to a building a killed a lot of people.
{Me} You're right. How do you know about that?
{PC} My teacher told us at school yesterday.
{Me} What else do you know about that day?
{PC} That it was a long time ago and really sad.

Today we had more of discussion about it.
{Me} Cam, tell me again what you said about why today is the saddest day.
{PC} Today, along time ago a plane went into a building and killed a lot of people.
{Me} How long ago do you think that was?
{PC} Like 100 years ago? Maybe 150 years?
{PA} I think maybe 9 or something.
{Me} It was 10 years ago today, and mommy was alive.
{PA} You were 10 years old?
{Me} No, I was 20 years old. Daddy and I were dating.
{PC} Where were you, what happened?
{Me} I was asleep and Jilly came to my room and told me that an airplane had hit one of the World Trade Towers and to come watch it on TV.

The girls were really intrigued by the events and that it wasn't as long ago as they thought it had been. We decided to watch a National Geographic presentation on the events of that day.
We sat in awe and sadness as we watched the planes hit.
All the smoke and debris.
My tiny girls couldn't get grasp that such a horrible thing happened in the beautiful city of New York.

Why would someone want to do that?
Why didn't these people stay home?
Why are they walking across the bridge, it would faster to drive?
Why did the men in those planes do that if they knew they were going to die?
How many planes were there?
Did those people die and come back to life?
How did these people get out?

They had question after question as we watched this show.
Tears were shed.
They squeezed me tight.

NEVER FORGOTTEN
FOREVER GRATEFUL

A Little Break...

Yesterday, Haidyn was having a mid-day meltdown.
Decided she needed to try to have a nap (hasn't had one in awhile).
The fit got worse and worse the closer we go to the bed.

{Me} Haid, I REALLY think you need a nap.
{PH} NOOOOooooo!
{Me} Okay, then just stay in here in your bed, you need a little a break.

I calmly lay her down with books and her blanket.

{Me} I love you, Haidy-bug.
{PH} Me no love you, mom.

As sad as it was that she said that, I couldn't help but laugh because of the situation.

Later that day...
{Me} Haidyn, you seem so much more happy, aren't you glad you took a nap today?
{PH} No, mom, I just took a little break.
There you have it!

Charlie...

This girl
Looks a lot like this girl
From THIS show

So our girls "play" GOOD LUCK CHARLIE...a lot.
Haidyn will even refer to herself as "Charlie".

We actually started watching the show because people would point out how much alike the two of them are.

In one episode, the boys, along with Charlie sing a birthday rap to their sister, Teddy and refer to Charlie as "Snoop Charlie Char".
Haidyn will randomly call out "Snoop Charlie Char".

It's one of the funniest things ever.

We may be biased, but I'm pretty sure Haidyn is the cuter of the two!

Home Lunch...

Camdyn has really been wanting to see what it would be like to take her lunch to school
instead of eating school lunch. Well, the day finally came
(and on a good one at that, BBQ rib sandwiches. Gross!),
except, we look like Old Mother Hubbard right now.
We were able to make a peanut butter & honey sandwich and throw in some applesauce.
Yep, that was the extent of her lunch, so she made a phone call.
She asked if my mom had anymore chips (preferably Cheetos)
and some Berry Burst Ice Cream Oreos.
She was out.
My dad so graciously brought over some chips (the regular potato kind)
and made a quick stop at the store for some juice boxes and the pink Oreos.
So, today after school...

{Me} How was school? Did you love taking your lunch?
{PC} Yes! I even ate everything, it was so good!
{Me} That is so great! I'm glad you liked it.
{PC} Yeah, everything except the cookies...I remembered I didn't really like them.

And like any cool mom, I added a little note,
with a fun joke!
{Q} Why did the cookie go to the doctor?

{A} Because he was feeling crumby.

You're Welcome!

Nosey...

Just had to pull one of these,

from this girl's
NOSE!
She thought it was no big deal...
oh dear!

{PH} Jesus, wants me for a sun-beep!

Guts...

Today Annistyn was making herself get "hurt" and Haidyn was getting quite a laugh out of it

{PA} She is cracking her guts out!

Yummies...

Last night I had to make a quick run to the grocery store for an item for dinner,
that was of course on the back wall.
Haidyn insisted on going with me and,
of course we had to walk past this isle...

{PH} (Gasp!) We wuv this!

Human...

{PC} Why did Jesus die?
{Dad} So we all have the chance to go to heaven.
{PC} Well, I like being human.

Queen of...

My parents have a timeshare and every year they invite us to come spend some time with them in
Park City at the condo. The place has about 7 different pools, so the girls think it is heaven.
They also have a ping pong table that Camdyn enjoyed to play on with Grandpa and Jilly...
they are so nice to humor her and play game after game, since the ball rarely gets hit back. I have never seen a game where the ball is on the ground more!
That's love right there!

{PC} Jilly you could be the ping pong queen!

Texting...

While I was tucking the girls in bed, Annie grabbed her "phone"

{PA} I need to text someone.

This is what I came back to,
about 15 minutes later.

Sorry whoever she was "texting"
don't expect a reply tonight, this girl is tired!

Fighted...

Camdyn read THE LION KING SIMBA'S ADVENTURE to us tonight at bedtime...

{CA} "The lions fighted. Simba won!"
{Me} Fought.
{CA} Fought? What does that mean?
{Me} Fighted.

Then Dannon explained to all of us that "fought" is the correct word for "fighted".
Thanks for your help!

Stylish...

I asked the girls to find something super cute to wear to school tomorrow and Annsityn was having a hard time and kept coming back with items that were slightly boring.

{Me} Bring me some cute bottoms and we'll find a cute top to match.
{PA} Oh, you mean something totally stylish?
{Me} Exactly.

Talk-a Jilly...

My sister, Darcy, and her husband, Robbie, moved to Florida this week and my parents are still there helping them get settled.

So...today, I joined this
I didn't share with any of the girls that I had arranged with my sister to surprise them all by setting up a video chat. Well, by the time we were in a position to get it going, they were still out finishing up some shopping.
Haidyn wasn't a being a very good listen, so the bribe kicked in (I can't stand whining). I decided to let her in the on the secret (that we were going to talk to Jilly on the computer), thinking we were going to be able to "chat" in the next few minutes.
Of course everything takes longer than you think and we had to leave instead. But Haidyn made her way to computer, adjusted the screen, prepared herself...

{PH} I talk-a Jilly.

She looked so adorable leaned up against the screen in hopes Jilly would magically appear.
And me and my sister, Abby...got a good laugh.

I'm In For It...

Haidyn has got into this habit of sitting at the dinner table with us, pick at her food, chow what she loves (ice, mostly) and take off into the other room. After asking her over and over again if she wants anymore "bites" so constantly says, "No, me finished."

So, tonight after deciding she was finished, she starts pulling things out of the fridge.
"No, Haid, you can't have juice, you didn't eat your dinner."
She continues to pull her selection and set it on the table.

Haidyn's food of choice...always.

While my back is turned I hear this
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiippppppppppppppppp.
And the cottage cheese lid is off.

{PH} See me do it. Ha! Ha!

Great, this is just what I need.

Quotable...

When we moved to our current home just over a year ago, we added a row of family picutres down the hallway. I have been meaning to finish the wall by adding a nice family quote above them.
For anyone who knows me, knows I'm really good at not finishing what I start and let's face it, I'm lazy.
So, yesterday I finally got around to getting some vinyl (which I won at a service auction) done and was putting it up last night after the girls were in bed. From {PC} and {PA} room I hear...

{PA} Mom, what does that even say anyway?
Hartman People?

Yes, Annie, we make sure everyone who comes to our house know that those are us. We don't want there to be any confusion.

"Family isn't an important thing, it's everything"

The Farm Store...

Two months ago, Dannon & I went out of town for a few days and my parents were generous enough to stay with our girls. At bedtime, they would each get a turn to add to the story from the night before (as far as I know, apparently it's their little secret). The story revolved around a little pig named Gretchen. Which is why we had a conversation about this store...
{PC} Mom you know that is a farm store, right?

{Me} Yes, I do know that is farm store.

{PC} Well...Jilly is going to go there and find a pig named Gretchen. If there isn't one, she's just going to get one and name her Gretchen.

{Me} Well, I don't think they sell animals at that store.

{PC} Duh, Mom, they have baby chicks.

Ha! This is a lady who it took almost 20 years to break down and get us a dog.
Pretty sure she isn't up (or fit) to raise a pig...
even if her name IS Gretchen.
